Griselda Provencio is a Dyslexia Warrior Coach who equips moms with tools to conquer anxiety and frustration, enabling them to cultivate environments where their children with dyslexia not only survive but thrive academically and socially.

In the midst of 4th-grade math, Griselda encountered a significant challenge. The principal's meeting with her mother highlighted the seriousness of the situation. Unless Griselda improved her math grades, she might have to repeat the year. She watched her mom emerge from that meeting. When she saw her mother, Griselda noticed her mom’s teary eyes. They weighed heavily on her heart. She asked her mom what the principal had said. Her mom immediately reassured her, saying not to worry. She said she would help her.

Every evening, her mom sat by Griselda’s side to assist with her homework. She remembers sitting at the kitchen table. She watched her siblings play in the backyard while she struggled to finish her work. Griselda often wondered why she wasn’t as smart as they were. Reading aloud was particularly nerve-wracking for Griselda. She trembled with anxiety as she stood before her peers, each word feeling like a weight on her shoulders. Despite her best efforts, her nerves often got the better of her. They turned what should have been a simple task into an ordeal of shaking hands and racing thoughts. Another challenge Griselda faced was comprehension. She had to read passages two or three times to understand them. Each word felt like deciphering a secret code, each one a puzzle Griselda struggled to solve. Spelling was also hard. Words vanished from her memory as quickly as they appeared. Despite satisfactory grades, the challenges continued, casting a shadow of doubt over her academic journey.

It was lonely and alienating. It left her feeling misunderstood and out of place. At the time, dyslexia remained a mystery, unknown to her and her teachers alike. Griselda battled silently, feeling like she didn’t quite measure up to her peers. But she refused to be held back, eventually graduating from The University of Texas at El Paso. Success in her career followed, but a desire to make a more profound impact tugged at her heart. One day, while exploring opportunities, she stumbled upon the Dyslexia Institute franchise. Intrigued, Griselda delved deeper, drawn to the opportunity to help others. She worked with children with dyslexia. She saw her own challenges in their eyes. It sparked curiosity within her. Years passed, and the question of 'what if?' lingered. Seeking answers, she pursued a diagnosis, confirming her suspicions: Griselda too was dyslexic. The revelation brought a sense of relief, finally giving a name to the obstacles she had faced. Griselda has dyslexia. She understands the frustrations, anxieties, and self-doubt it brings. Now she has empathy and understanding. She is dedicated to helping moms navigate dyslexia's complexities. Griselda can help moms of dyslexic children so much better by providing them with personalized guidance, support, and resources. She has dyslexia, so she knows exactly what their child needs and how they think. She also knows the emotions they face each day. Griselda lived it herself. This fuels her passion to equip moms so they can help their children. Griselda’s journey has taught her the value of resilience. It has also shown her the power of knowledge.

Griselda understands the struggles of children with dyslexia. They face these challenges daily and are often misunderstood and judged. They are often called lazy or dumb. Teachers and even parents, due to lack of knowledge, think the child is not trying hard enough.

She learned about dyslexia from her experience at the Dyslexia Institute and from working closely with children with dyslexia. While dyslexia has no cure, there are therapies and strategies available to help children cope and thrive in school and with friends. Griselda strongly believes that more resources should be made available to support them.

At the institute, she saw the anxiety, frustration, and stress of mothers. They felt this way due to their lack of knowledge about dyslexia. Some mothers knew nothing about dyslexia, and for some, it was the first time they had heard the term. Griselda found great satisfaction in giving them deeper understanding by unraveling the myths and revealing the facts about dyslexia. It was rewarding to see their perspectives shift as they gained clarity on this often-misunderstood condition. Additionally, she enjoyed equipping them with practical strategies to implement at home, empowering them to support their children in meaningful ways and fostering a positive learning environment. Griselda enjoyed debunking myths and facts about dyslexia. She also liked giving them strategies to use at home.

Griselda’s lifelong desire to help people led her to the Dyslexia Institutes franchise by fate. It provided her with the opportunity to help children with dyslexia. Griselda saw their struggles. For example, they were in 3rd grade but reading at a PreK level. They did not get the help they needed in their early years in school. This made her determined to intervene early. Dyslexia won't go away on its own. Timely help is crucial. It stops issues like low self-esteem, depression, and dropping out of school.

You might ask why she focuses on helping mothers. That's because, in talking with them, she realized they are living in the dark when it comes to dyslexia. This lack of light on this subject leads to family frustration. Griselda’s own dyslexia in adulthood has fueled her mission. It has driven her to make a difference for the dyslexic community. Now, her passion has turned into a mission to empower mothers to support their children at home.

For over seven years, Griselda has assisted countless mothers and their children. It began by aiding children. But it evolved into recognizing the crucial need for supporting mothers. This realization led to the inception of Dyslexia Warriors, with the aim of equipping mothers with the tools necessary to conquer anxiety and frustration. The ultimate goal is to foster an environment where children with dyslexia not only survive but thrive academically and socially.

The program empowers mothers to spot dyslexia early in a child’s life. This allows for timely intervention. The program uses effective strategies and tactics. They help mothers and children cope with dyslexia at home and in the classroom.

“My child’s struggles in school were taking a toll on our family life, and much of the stress stemmed from my lack of understanding about dyslexia.

Ms. Griselda took the time to explain how children with dyslexia process information, which was a huge relief. Learning that my child is intelligent but simply learns differently was reassuring. With her recommendations, I began implementing strategies at home to support my child’s learning. As our family gains greater insight into dyslexia, a newfound peace permeates our home.”

A. Nance | USA

“Since my son started the program we have seen significant progress both academically and in self-esteem. Today he feels engaged and motivated, and as a result, he now enjoys reading.”

R. Parker | USA

“We are very grateful. My daughter is better prepared for her academic future.”

S. Armendariz | USA

“Before I met Ms. Griselda, I constantly told myself that I wasn’t a good mom. My son’s dyslexia added to the challenge; when he got upset, he’d say hurtful things like I didn’t love him and that I was mean to him, and eventually, I started to believe it.

Ms. Griselda helped me navigate through the stress and anxiety every time I felt inadequate as a mother. Today, I’m more confident in my parenting abilities. If you’re struggling with frustration and disappointment because you’re unsure how to support your child with dyslexia, I highly recommend seeking guidance from Ms. Griselda.”
